At what age did you start instructing?

Why did you apply for the APSI National Team?

I am passionate about nordic skiing, having been involved in the industry for nearly 50 years as an instructor and backcountry guide. I have been a lifelong learner who is keen to share my knowledge to help APSI become even better at what it does.

What area of the APSI are you most interested in developing?

I'd like to see the resources that are available to APSI instructors be of high quality with the latest and best knowledge the industry can offer. As well, developing our instructors to be passionate about what they do is important because not only is our enthusiasm infectious but our guests walk away with a memorable experience.

What do you hope to learn during your time on the APSI National team?

I'd like to learn more about the other disciplines and their approaches. I am also keen to learn from other nations during the Interski event. We are all trying to achieve the same thing but the diversity of approaches and creativity in the industry is extraordinary. So much to lap up!

Anything else you'd like to share with members?

Skiing is a lifelong sport that keeps us young, healthy and engaged with people and the world around us. My happiest moments are on a quiet nordic trail with no crowds and light snow falling; and with the company of friends enjoying an apres ski drink and talking about the great ski. These two moments are ones that we help create for all through our teaching and passion.
