SNOWBOARD LEVEL 2

Our snowboard level two qualification is aimed at core group lessons instructors that need to teach both beginner children and adults.

This qualification is suitable for working, level one certified instructors who wish to improve their skills and advance their teaching career.

COURSE

The four-day course covers the skills needed to teach beginner adults and children from first timers up to beginner freestyle.

This course covers topics such as; class handling, safety, technical information, rider analysis, riding and demonstrating ability all based around the performance of steering as used in our teaching system. 

COURSE PREREQUISITES

  • Be a current member
  • Passed all units of the snowboard level one exam (or have been approved for RPL)

EXAM

The two-day exam utilises both the station assessment type for riding and demonstration tasks and the group scenario assessment type for teaching tasks.

There is an option to sit this exam at the early season exam in July and also again at the end of season exam in September. However, participation at multiple end of season exams is not permitted. 

Example: a candidate cannot participate at the Victorian end of season exam, and then in the NSW end of season exam.

EXAM PREREQUISITES

  • Be a current member
  • Be employed by a professional snowsports school in Australia or abroad
  • Have completed all units of the snowboard level two course
  • Have a minimum of 50 hours teaching experience
  • Have completed a minimum of 25 hours in-house training with an APSI approved snowsport school (in addition to the course)
