ABOUT US

Receiving formal recognition in 1976, The Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors Inc. (APSI) is a not-for-profit membership association and Australia’s’ industry leaders for providing training and assessment to snowsport instructors.

APSI is ever-growing and currently represents roughly 1500 members, made up of instructors, coaches, examiners and other snowsport industry professionals. We offer a four-level certification system and proudly run courses across Australia and Japan in five disciplines -Alpine, Snowboard, Telemark, Nordic and Adaptive. APSI exists for our members and work to provide them with access to the best information about instruction and snowsport, as well as providing value through a range of member benefits.

Australian trained snowsport instructors have a strong reputation at home and abroad. International recognition of our training programs through the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA) contributes to employment opportunities for many of our members.

OUR GOALS

Our goals are to provide members with the highest quality of training and accreditation and to deliver those services with a sense of enjoyment, friendliness, and pride. APSI continuously work to evolve our methods and to meet the needs of members, the snowsport resorts and their guests.

OUR PEOPLE

We achieve our goals by having committed people in the right roles. An elected Board of management considers all executive decisions and three full-time employees manage day-to-day business from our Jindabyne office.

Members elect a technical director for each discipline and they, together with their technical committee, recommend and implement the future direction of APSI’s teaching system. A further 60 trainers are employed on a seasonal basis to run APSI courses and exams.
