ADVANCING WOMEN IN SNOWSPORTS INITIATIVES
AWS delivers a range of initiatives designed to support, connect and empower women throughout their snowsports journey. From networking opportunities and professional development women's camps to scholarships, member surveys and representation throughout APSI educational resources, our initiatives aim to create meaningful opportunities for growth, connection and progression.
Many of these programs have been developed in response to member feedback and continue to evolve as the needs of our community change. Explore our initiatives below to learn more about the opportunities available and how you can get involved.
POST NATAL CERTIFICATION UPDATE
The APSI is excited to offer complimentary Post Natal Certification Updates for members who have recently become mothers and whose APSI certification has expired, or is about to expire. Driven by the AWS, this initiative is designed to support female instructors in maintaining the currency of their certification and reengage with the snowsports industry during the crucial period following childbirth.
This Post Natal Certification Update reflects APSI's dedication to supporting female instructors, fostering inclusivity, and empowering them to thrive both personally and professionally as they navigate motherhood.

MEETINGS AND OTHER EVENTS
AWS Women & Allies Networking Meeting
Originally established as a networking space for women in snowsports, the AWS Women & Allies Networking Session has evolved to welcome supportive allies who share our commitment to a more inclusive and connected industry.
Delivered either in person or online, this one-hour session provides an opportunity for instructors from across resorts, disciplines and certification levels to connect, share experiences and build professional relationships. While allies are warmly welcomed, the session continues to prioritise creating a space where women feel comfortable sharing their experiences, building confidence and strengthening their professional networks.
The session also provides a valuable opportunity for members to connect directly with APSI and the AWS Committee, learn about current initiatives, provide feedback, and contribute ideas that help shape future programs and priorities. Through open conversation, collaboration and mutual support, these sessions strengthen connections across the industry and help ensure the voices of women continue to inform the future direction of AWS.

Women of Winter and Allies Networking Events
Snow Australia, in partnership with APSI's AWS, resort partners and SRA, is hosting a series of Women of Winter & Allies networking events this season.
These events bring together women and allies across the snow industry to connect, hear from inspiring speakers, and share experiences. Discussions will focus on resilience and longevity, health and wellbeing, and workplace culture - supporting stronger representation, career pathways, and long-term involvement in the industry. Open to professionals, newcomers and supporters alike - mark these dates in your calendar:
Jindabyne – 12 July, 2026 (with APSI)
Featuring Manuela Berchtold, Shea de Lorenzo and Elaine Purser, exploring realities of sustaining long term success, prioritising physical and mental wellbeing, and fostering supportive environments. Together, they will offer valuable insights into what it takes to thrive as women in winter sport and beyond.

The Athlete and Mother Journey - athletes and mothers share experiences from Interschools to Olympic and Paralympic pathways.
Mt. Hotham – 9 August, 2026
The third annual Hotham event ahead of a busy competition week with Snow Australia FUTURES and ANC Snowboard and Ski Cross events.
Mt. Buller – 15 August, 2026
Held ahead of the Victorian Interschools Championships.
