Why did you apply for the APSI National Team?

I applied for my second term on the APSI National Team because I am passionate about elevating the standards of snowsports instruction in Australia and contributing to the future of our industry. Serving on the National Team has been a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the best in our field, and I am so excited to continue to bring my experience and insights to support APSI’s mission of excellence.

Being part of this team allows me to help shape training programs that empower instructors to deliver exceptional experiences on the mountain. As a Level 4 Examiner Trainer and someone deeply committed to the snowsports community, I see the National Team as a platform to drive growth and innovation. I am particularly motivated to advocate for increased diversity within APSI and to support initiatives that encourage more women to pursue higher-level certifications and leadership roles.

By joining the National Team, I aim to contribute to a strong, inclusive future for APSI, where every instructor feels supported to achieve their full potential. I look forward to sharing my knowledge, continuing to learn from others, and inspiring a new generation of instructors dedicated to advancing Australian snowsports.

What area of the APSI are you most interested in developing?

I’m interested in developing APSI’s approach to supporting instructors at every stage of their career, with a focus on advanced training and mentorship. APSI has a unique opportunity to elevate the quality of instruction in Australia by creating clear pathways for professional growth—demonstrating that ski instruction can be a fulfilling, long-term career.
I’m also passionate about making APSI an inclusive and accessible organization. Building on the work with the Advancing Women in Snowsports committee (AWS), I’d like to help foster an environment where instructors of all backgrounds feel supported and inspired to pursue higher certifications and leadership roles.
By refining our programs and resources, we can ensure that instructors not only have the skills and knowledge to succeed but also see the potential for a rewarding future in the industry. Through mentorship, advanced training, and showcasing the career potential in snowsports, APSI can continue empowering instructors to excel and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive snowsports community.

What do you hope to learn during your time on the APSI National team?

As I begin my second term on the APSI National Team, I'm looking forward to continuing expanding on the skills and experiences I’ve gained so far. A major focus for me is to further develop my leadership and mentorship abilities to better support instructors at all stages of their careers. Being part of a skilled, diverse team is a privilege, and I aim to use what I learn to inspire our members and promote snowsports instruction as a rewarding career.

I’m also excited to keep pushing my own skiing to new levels, which I believe directly impacts our ability to set high standards and elevate the skills of our members. Additionally, learning from international team members offers invaluable opportunities. Gaining insights into advanced teaching and skiing techniques and understanding diverse approaches to instructor development from around the world will provide fresh perspectives we can integrate into APSI’s training standards.
This exchange of knowledge helps us keep our curriculum relevant and innovative, ensuring we meet global best practices and continue to strengthen our own communities passion for the sport.

Anything else you'd like to share with members?

I’d like to share how excited I am for this new term and the opportunities it brings to connect with APSI members across all levels and resorts. I started in this industry on a whim, and more than a decade later, it has become a guiding force, shaping me into who I am today.

I genuinely love skiing and the mountain community that snowsports fosters—it's a privilege to be part of such an inspiring environment. For me, ski instruction goes beyond just teaching; it’s about building connections, growing our skills, and sharing a passion for the slopes and the mountains. I’m committed to helping each member see what’s possible, whether it’s advancing through certifications, refining their technical skills, or discovering a deeper purpose in their role.

I also want to remind everyone that APSI is here to support each of you, whether you’re new to the industry or a seasoned instructor. Our goal is to create an inclusive, engaging environment where all members feel valued, motivated, and excited about their future in snowsports.
