The Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors Inc. (APSI) is a not-for-profit association representing roughly 1000 members.
Alpine, snowboard, nordic, telemark and adaptive instructors, coaches, examiners and other snowsport industry professionals make up our membership.
In 1976 the APSI received government and international recognition as the Australian industry leaders for providing training and assessment to snowsport instructors.
Australian trained snowsport instructors have a strong reputation, both at home and abroad.
International recognition of our training programs through the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA) contributes to employment opportunities for many of our members.
We achieve our goals by having committed people in the right roles.
An elected Board of management considers all executive decisions, with three full time employees managing our day to day business.
Our membership elects a head trainer (known as the technical director) for each discipline and they, together with their technical committee, recommend and implement the future direction of our teaching system.
We employ a further 60 trainers on a seasonal basis to run courses and exams.
