Jason Clauscen (Thredbo, NSW)

I started my snowboard instructor career in Falls Creek in 1998. After 2 seasons working for Falls Creek, moved to Thredbo in the year 2000, where I also reached my full certification level and became an APSI trainer.

In 2004, I became the Technical Director for snowboarding for the APSI. After 11 years with Thredbo and stepping down as the Technical Director, I moved to Perisher to investigate the coaching pathway. Working Perisher for several seasons I then moved to the NSW Institute of Sport as the Snowboard Cross Coach. Coaching was a great experience and opened my eyes to another area of the industry. I have now returned to Thredbo and have loved every minute.

Over the years, my journey has allowed me to work and travel around the globe and experience great locations and people. Simply seeing the progression and joy of guests when they learn snowboarding or a new technique is by far the highlight of my career. Heading to Interski, I'm interested to see how other countries have moved though recent years and if there are any concepts/ideas that we could apply to our system to help our guests, instructors or trainers.
