The Snow Women Networking Evening
Held on 11 July 2024, at Rydges Jindabyne, The Snow Women Networking Evening brought together 60 people from across the snow industry for a night of networking, support, and inspiration. Organised by Snow Australia and APSI's AWS, the event featured guest speakers Rachel Oaks-Ash and APSI Board Member Sarah Lyster.
Rachael Oaks-Ash (@misssnowitall), a journalist and best known for her snow blog, Snows Best, shared experiences and challenges faced throughout her career. Her stories provided invaluable insights into the world of snow journalism and encouraged resilience and a #showusdagirls mindset for all attendees.
Sarah Lyster, with a diverse career in the snow industry, spoke about her professional journey, sense of 'home' in the Australian mountains and offered crucial advice on self-care. Her emphasis on the importance of looking after yourself in such a demanding industry left attendees motivated.
The event successfully fostered a supportive environment, allowing attendees to connect and share stories. The positive atmosphere made it a memorable evening for all involved. We are already looking forward to next year!
